About Clayton
Clayton Kennington brings more than 25 years of experience in overseeing the operations of Kennington Commercial to his role as President and Principal of the firm. Throughout his career at Kennington, Clayton has acquired, sold, and financed more than $500 million in transactions of the family’s legacy assets in the office, flex, retail and industrial asset classes. In addition, Clayton has approximately 2.5 million square feet of commercial assets under management (49% family-owned and 51% third party) covering approximately 70 buildings throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth MSA.
Prior to Kennington Commercial, Clayton worked as a senior associate at Ernst & Young-Kenneth Leventhal in the firm’s real estate consulting group, working throughout Latin America and Asia with publicly-traded REITS and private equity firms on their acquisition and disposition strategies.
Clayton earned a BA from Washington and Lee University and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
Community and Family
Clayton is active with The Urban Land Institute – Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter, serving as a Member of the Industrial Council. Additionally, Clayton is on the Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc., where he is a Board Member of the Executive Committee. Finally, he has served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Highland Park United Methodist Church; Dad’s Club President of Bradfield Elementary School; and is a Wood Badge recipient for Boy Scouts of America.
Clayton and his wife have six children and spend a good portion of their free time managing multiple schedules for each child. Clayton also enjoys traveling, tennis, cooking and exercising.
